What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept most major insurance plans. Please check with your insurance carrier if a referral is required from your primary care physician. Co-payments are requested at the time of service. Payment plans are available for self-paying patients.

Which hospital does Podiatry Associates use?

Our podiatrists treat many of our patients at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the Outpatient Surgery Center in the Birmingham area. In Sylacauga and the surrounding area, we treat many of our patients at Coosa Valley Medical Center.

Do your podiatrists treat children?

Yes. Our team of podiatrists treat people of all ages and have years of experience and training in foot pathologies common in children.

How do I get a copy of my medical records or test results?

Our office can provide you with copies of your medical records. Please request your records in advance and bring any forms that need to be completed to our office for processing (generally 5-7 business days is required for all record requests). A processing fee is required for most record requests.

How do I request a prescription refill?

Please call the number for the office of which you are a patient (205-933-9595 for Birmingham patients and 256-249-2212 for Sylacauga patients) during regular business hours to speak with our clinic staff regarding medication changes or prescription refills. In most cases, pain medications cannot be refilled by phone after hours or on the weekends.

Whom should I call if I have an emergency after hours?

For life-threatening emergencies, please call 9-1-1 or contact your local emergency room. If you recently had surgery or have other urgent, non-life-threatening issues, Dr. Russell’s patients should call 205-305-6332, Dr. Bowman’s patients should call 205-602-5403 and Dr. Pierson’s patients should call 205-903-0753.
