Dr. Robert I. Russell is a graduate of the University of Alabama and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology in 1980. He then went on to pursue his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his studies in 1984.

Dr. Russell is licensed/certified to practice Podiatric Medicine in the State of Alabama. He received his certifications in the following:

• American Board of Podiatric
• Surgery in July, 1992
• American Council of Certified Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons in July, 1989
• National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners in July 1984

Dr. Russell completed his residency in foot surgery at Riverside Hospital and then became part of Podiatry Associates, PC which was started by his father in 1986. He also completed his externships at Kern Hospital, JFK memorial Hospital and Frankford Torresdale Hospital. Many of Dr. Russell honors come from his involvement within the Podiatric contingency as well as his involvement with community. He received the following awards:

• The Leadership Award from the Alabama Podiatry Association in 1993
• Hershey Student Award for Outstanding Service 1984
• Outstanding Young Men in America 1984
• Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1984.

Dr. Russell is well respected in the Podiatric community and has held the positions of President, Vice President, and Treasure for the Alabama Podiatry Association. He currently holds the title of Chairman for the Alabama Podiatry Political Action Committee and has since 1987. Along with these positions, Dr. Russell continues to take an active role in teaching others about podiatry, foot care and medical responsibilities. He formerly was an instructor for UAB Primary Care Medical Residency Program as well as an instructor for UAB Medical West in Diabetes and Foot Care. Dr. Russell also teaches a Medical Ethics class at UAB.

When Dr. Russell has the time off he enjoys golfing, fishing, medical mission work and working with homeless shelters. Dr. Russell enjoys spending time with his children, wife Charlotte and extended family.

Dr. James H. Bowman is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology in 1985. He was the recipient of a full athletic Grant-in-Aid from 1980-1985. Dr. Bowman then went on to complete his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and completed these studies in 1990.

Dr. Bowman did many externships which include:

• University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas
• Fort Lenard Wood Army Base in Missouri
• Marion Veterans Administration Hospital in Indiana
• Michiana Community Hospital

Dr. Bowman completed his residency at Doctor’s Hospital – Airline Podiatric Residency in Houston, Texas. Dr. Bowman is licensed/certified in the State of Alabama to practice Podiatric Medicine and is Board Qualified. His hospital affiliations include St. Vincent’s and Coosa Valley Medical Center as well as the Outpatient Care Center.

Dr. Bowman’s employment record of success includes Shoals Foot Center in Florence, Alabama from 1991-1999 and is currently employed with Podiatry Associates.

In Dr. Bowman’s free time he enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel, their four children and two grandchildren. He enjoys a good game of racquetball and is an avid football fan. Dr. Bowman also enjoys tending to the many horses he and his family share.

Edward Stanulevich, DPM, is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science in biology. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a comprehensive 3 year surgical and non-surgical residency at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Stanulevich focused on preventing and treating diabetic foot ulcers, general lower extremity wound care, and lymphedema lower extremity care. He is trained for diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of lower extremity issues including hammertoes, bunions, deformity correction, limb salvage, and skin conditions. In addition to this he has treated patients at multiple races/marathons including 24 hour races and 100 mile runs.

In his practice Dr. Stanulevich approaches every patient as a whole person. He believes in working with patients to meet their treatment goals. He applies a combination of common sense and evidence based medicine to provide the best possible care for each person he treats.

Professionally, Dr. Stanulevich is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

In his free time Dr. Stanulevich enjoys spending time with his wife Melanie and his children. As well as practicing martial arts such as taijiquan (tai chi) for health and fitness.
